If they couldn’t, it would have been nice to give Mr James more to do. Mine are the really poorly done photography and I wish they could have worked around Speedwells’ schedule and kept him around. The simple fact is when it comes to the last of anything there are almost always complaints. I’m almost sorry to hear they’re talking about another. This does make a nice try at tying off the series. The last one I saw was “Let The Right One In,” the Swedish version.
If Michael Sheen and Kate Beckinsdale hadn’t been in the first and it hadn’t been available on prime I sincerely doubt I’d have ever gotten started. This one fails at that, which is so very basic it’s hard to imagine it wasn’t fixed after the first dailies. The first three have much less light but you could still see details. Whomever did the lighting, the photography or both just didn’t set up right. Even the daylight shots look dark with rare exceptions.
Somehow, in spite of having multiple light sources, from candles, lots and lots of them, to headlights, florescent overheads, etc., the frame looks dark.

358 people found this helpfulĪll the movies in this series (I did skip the previous one) are set at nighttime. Wonderful to see how invested Kate Beckinsale is in her character after all these movies. By the end of Blood Wars, I guess fans will be pleased to see that if this is the end for Underworld, then there's a vague sense of closure that there hadn't been before (as much closure as it is possible with immortal creatures amidst a war), but if it's not the end, then it's evident that there's still plenty of life left for the franchise.
#UNDERWORLD BLOOD WARS 2016 ONLINE MOVIE MOVIE#
Taking the movie as it is, its main purpose (entertainment) and audience in mind, I can *definitely* say that it delivers: way better than the last one (Underworld Awakening), Blood Wars is never boring, extremely fast-paced and the Selene we have here is less robotic and much more developed than we've seen her before.Īlso, and quite surprisingly, it expands the story's universe a bit, both creating a radically different vampire coven (in tone and aesthetic), while also revisiting the medieval eastern-european kind we had previously been introduced to in the original 2003 movie. Such a disaster. If you're reading this review, I take it you're actually interested in the fifth installment of an action-horror vampire/werewolf franchise so, let's make that leap and go a little beyond pointing fingers at the (supposed) lack of 'originality' or 'depth' of the script, right? Okay. Even the effects were not that great, with so many cringe worthy moments. Overall, movie is so badly directed and edited, filled with lame dialogue and shameful acting. Action, the strongest point in these types of films, was so poorly edited and is completely boring. And now we have Blood Wars, 5th and worst in the franchise. Very forgettable film, even for Underworld fans. Then came 4th film, Awakening, solid concept but lame execution. Sequel, Underworld: Evolution expanded the origin story for these species, while Underworld: Rise of the Lycans served as prequel, giving us idea how and why the whole grudge between vampires and lycans started. First Underworld, released back in 2003, is pretty solid action-horror film. Solid concept for the fans of these types of films that offer a bit of story and focus more on action and gore. Creating some kind of mythology, war between vampires and lycans. These movies were never made for Oscar consideration, I understand that, but the first three at least tried something.
